Best Chocolate Cake Recipe
Cake Ingredients
200 grams of plain or white flour
200 grams sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
50 grams rich cocoa powder
175 grams white butter or unsalted butter
3 medium eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla essence or a teaspoon of fresh vanilla
150 ml sour cream
Blending The Ingredients
Make sure that all of your ingredients are cold. Heat the oven to 180 degrees centigrade. Spray or lightly butter 20 cm cake tins. Use springforms or removable base ones. Mix everything in a food processor or using a whisk till you get a creamy and smooth batter. Then divide the batter into the two tins. Bake them for about 35 minutes. But do keep an eye, in case the cake burns.
Tip
Test using a thin skewer to make sure the cake is done. If you are putting both tins together, then move them around after 15-20 minutes for even heating. Get the cake out and cool for about 10 minutes.
Cake Icing
75 grams of white or unsalted butter
180 grams of dark cooking chocolate
300 grams icing sugar
125 ml cream
A bit of vanilla essence or extract
How To Make Icing
Melt the butter and chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. The idea is to melt slowly. Sieve the icing sugar. Mix it the cooled chocolate and butter batter to the cream and add vanilla. Now, add the icing sugar and whisk using a hand blender. If the icing seems runny add some more sugar or if it is too thick add a spoon of boiling water.
Assembling The Cake
